Where Students Gain Real Skills, Real Habits, and Real Opportunities
Across the country, educators are searching for meaningful ways to prepare students for life after high school. At Cardinal Manufacturing in Strum, Wisconsin, that preparation is at the core of their mission. The program’s primary goal is to equip students with the technical skills, confidence, and strong work habits that employers look for, such as professionalism, communication and responsibility. In this student-run business, students experience firsthand what it takes to be a dependable employee while contributing to real customer projects. Cardinal Manufacturing provides services in repair work, welding, woodworking, machining, design, and 3D printing.
Beyond running their own shop, they are dedicated to helping schools across the nation build similar programs that give students a head start on their futures. To support this, they host training events for educators. Their next workshop will be held on March 12, 2026, offering a detailed look at how to create a successful student run business, a look into a day at Cardinal Manufacturing and seeing students working on projects. Registration for this can be found on Cardinal Manufacturing’s website here: Workshop Registration
Cardinal Manufacturing will host its annual Open House on May 6, 2026, a free community centered event that highlights student achievements and gives the public a look inside the shop. Visitors can enjoy a free meal, enter raffles, meet a special guest, and explore displays from industry vendors who support the program. The open house is one of Cardinal Manufacturing’s biggest events of the year and a perfect opportunity to see the program in action.
